Sonia Strong is a Writer & Stage Director. She works as a songwriter, music producer for an American company West One Pacific. She trained as a dancer for many years and qualified to teach dance in 2001. She began teaching dance in colleges whilst studying a degree in Acting at Newcastle Performing Arts Academy.

Sonia worked as an Actor & TV Presenter for several years in her most memorable contract was working for Bravo TV in association with NBC On ‘The Bull Run’, which airs as a 6-week program annually called ‘Cops, Cars & Superstars’. As Sonia holds a driving and motorbike license she was hired as a racer/rider and co-presenter on a rally that stopped at many locations around the west coast of America, a Hollywood to Hollywood rally via Aspen, Colorado.

Sonia worked as resident DJ at London’s Planet Hollywood, it was this period where she began to give more time and attention to writing and co-producing her debut solo album ‘Sonogram’ which was released worldwide on May 2013 and she is the process of writing her second album ‘Ultrasound’. She has written music & jingles for audio books, TV, film & radio soundtracks and works writing songs for various bands and up artists. Sonia works as a freelance sound engineer & video designer/editor. She has worked organising, directing & producing theatre productions for the last decade. She founded the Miss Newcastle Organisation on behalf of Miss England & Miss World. Sonia ran it successfully for 3 years before handing it over to her first modelling agent Tyne Tees Models.

Sonia assisted in introducing the music of Broadway composer and songwriter Scott Alan into London’s west end with her brother Adam Strong. She worked with a North East Production company for 2 years as their Artistic Director, creating short films, promo reels for Actors, singers & voice over artists.

She has done many of her own voice over’s for adverts such as Marks & Spencer, Options Chocolate & the Metro Centre shopping park. Sonia enjoys creating films to accompany stage productions to encompass a full multimedia experience for the audience. She is in the process of writing her own original musical called ‘Ancient Dreams’ which will go into workshop very soon. Sonia runs her own multi-functional recording and film making Studio, with extreme competence using all of the last professional industry standard Applications and software, including Final Cut Pro X, Logic Pro & Main Stage. Within the house of Damson Productions, show pre-production takes place, writing, composing and storyboarding, music production and vocal recording for actors, singers and voice artists. The studio of Damson Productions is based in the North East of England for, a company set up by siblings Adam & Sonia several years ago when they hosted for Miss England on behalf of Miss World.

Sonia Directed ‘The World of Musicals’ for the 2014 China tour and as Screen designer & Stage Director on the 2015 & 2016 German tour, along with compiling and Directing ‘a Christmas musical’ that also toured Europe in December 2015.

Sonia is a keen artist and has a passion for airbrushing and oil on canvas, she has sold a few pieces of her work even though she classes it as a hobby. Sonia also teaches all aspects of Beauty Therapy & Media Make up for the last 15 years and is a Master Artist Nail Technician being nominated 3 times as a finalist in the British Beauty Awards & twice in the Professional Awards, being named one of the top technicians in the UK. Sonia has won many industry awards for her skills & designs magazine covers, writes regular articles, which are published in Health & Beauty magazines. Most recently Sonia was invited onboard the WatchFit expert contributors team, her articles to date are how to eat healthy middle – eastern food, ‘A Feast fit for a Pharaoh’ and Sleep Hygiene. Her next publication surrounds Subconscious medicine as Sonia has always taken a keen interest in Neuroscience.

Sonia worked as Writer & Stage Director on Tina the Rock Legend 2015 & 2016 and is extremely happy to be working with Reset Productions & GFD Promotions again on Break Every Rule Tina the Rock Legend the Musical for the 2017 tour.

Sonia co-founded along with her brother Adam, the North Easts first authentic Egyptian Restaurant in her home town in the heart of Sunderland city centre. The restaurant opened 4 years ago and still has an excellent reputation to this day, Sonia is overwhelmed at how well the concept has been received by the people in the area. Sonia’s main interests are health & fitness mainly yoga, spirituality and how the mind and body works. She relaxes by playing her acoustic guitar, painting & walking her 2 dogs.
